The Company ASTOS AŠ, J.S.C. was established in the year 1996, by the privatization of formal Subsidiary Company TOS Čelakovice. Company TOS Kuřim was established in the 1942 and it was from the beginning pathfinder for the new technology introduction into production process and its trademark become the worldwide known symbol of the reliable and precise long life machines. Since the 2005 the company TOS Kurim is the part of the group ALTA Brno. TOS Olomouc s.r.o.

The company TOS Olomouc Ltd. belongs among traditional producers of milling machines. Major part of production is destined to foreign customers. Tradition of the company dates back to 1922 when the electrotechnical devices firm WAGNER was established. A centreless grinding machine, made to serve their own production, started off machine-tools manufacturing in 1935. Since 1950 the company took on a new name – TOS Olomouc and changed its focus on the production of knee-type milling machines. At first it was production of conventional milling machines and than in 1972 also the production of continuous controlled milling machines. A high standard quality product can be manufactured on high quality processing equipment only. That’s why in 1985 the company introduced the flexible processing system PVS 400 for the production of cast iron boxes, which up to now supply the assembly workshop with high precision and quality products. During the period of privatization the plant became privately owned by the company Obrabeci stroje Olomouc Ltd. in 1993. In 2005 TOS Varnsdorf has become majority owner. In 2008 Obrabeci stroje Olomouc Ltd. gained the quality certification ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 awarded by Inspection Institute TÜV.

TOS Svitavy, a.s.

Company TOS Svitavy was established in the year 1948 having more than 60 years tradition in machinery production. Svitavy town is located 70 km northwest from Brno. There were several periods of classical machinery production development, later two basic production programmes were stabilized – production of woodworking machines and production of chucks. In the year 1996 the company was fully privatized and the majority owner is company B.G.M. Holding, a.s. Prague. Since 1997 is introduced quality standard EN ISO 9001:2000, machines are produced according CE standards. Actual Situation in Company There are 300 employees working and products are exported into 40 countries worldwide. The Company has been established in the year 1903 as ARNO PLAUERT Engineering Plant. From the very beginning the production was focused on Metal Cutting Machines.
